It was an exciting weekend of Suzuki racing with round 13 of AMA Monster Energy Supercross traveling to the Pacific Northwest. With rain storms leading up to race time, the muddy track conditions couldn't stop five Suzuki RM-Z's from crossing the checkered flag. Autotrader/Yoshimura/Suzuki Factory Racing
The Autotrader/Yoshimura/Suzuki Factory Racing team traveled to the Pacific Northwest for round 13 of the 2018 Monster Energy AMA Supercross series. Mother Nature wreaked havoc on CenturyLink Field in Seattle, WA, with a barrage of rainstorms battering the open-air stadium. That didn’t deter the 55,407 enthusiastic fans, who watched Phil Nicoletti earn his first ever 250 Heat race victory on his Suzuki RM-Z250. Teammate Justin Hill slogged through the mud to score a top-ten finish in the 250 main event. The hard-charging efforts of Weston Peick on the all-new Suzuki RM-Z450 resulted in a main event top-ten finish. Malcolm Stewart looked poised to improve on his career best finish at Indianapolis two weekends ago but some bad luck and treacherous conditions dropped him back to 17th.
H.E.P. Motorsports
The H.E.P. Motorsports team came back from spring break to a muddy Seattle Supercross. The unstable weather and treacherous conditions made the track and race virtually unpredictable.
H.E.P. Motorsports kicked into high gear Friday morning preparing a Suzuki RM-Z450 for fellow Suzuki rider Cedric Soubeyras who was unexpectedly left without team support the day before. The quick reaction and technical assistance from H.E.P. Motorsports sent positive shockwaves through the pits and news sites across the internet. Soubeyras made the best of the challenging situation with a solid performance throughout the evening. Transferring straight into the main event from his heat race, Soubeyras went on to finish the night in 13th.
Fellow RM-Z450 teammate Henry Miller added another main event trip in Seattle. During the main event, Miller battled as track conditions worsened to finish in 18th place, a career best.
For H.E.P. Motorsports 250 West Supercross rider Tallon Lafountaine, Seattle’s muddy track conditions didn’t deter him from achieving a career first main event entry. Lafountaine rode with tenacity and grit, fighting the slippery track surface finishing in 20th.
Hatch Racing/Thor/Wayside Lumber/Yoshimura/Suzuki
RM Army off-road racer Gary Sutherlin headed to 29 Palms Motorsports in 29 Palms, CA, for the fourth round of the Big6 GP Championship series. When the green flag dropped, Sutherlin rocketed out of the pack on his Suzuki with a top-five start. Unfortunately during the first lap, Sutherlin experienced troubles with his rear brake and had to pull out of the race early. Sutherlin looks to regroup for round five of the Western Off-Road Racing Championship Series (WORCS) on April 27th at Sand Hollow National Park in Hurricane, UT.
